“Mack” as he is affectionately known. Is an upstanding solid bay horse with a kind eye, and a gentle nature and is rising 3 years old. His bloodlines are impeccable and closely related to the horses imported into Australia, by the most prestigious Galaway family stud “ Hillend”

Appraisal of Clydesdale For Sale

Clydesdale for sale Winmalee Mc Tavish this very kind colt would be an asset to any horse stud.

On The Ground

He has a big open foot with a broad elastic frog, well sprung pasterns, ample clean flat hard flinty bone, broad flat knees,  long cannon bones, exceptionally clean joints, very deep hocks, moderate length gaskins and forearms.

Mack’s gait when viewed from behind is close behind and striding straight through, whilst lifting his hocks nicely and his hind feet breaking over cleanly.

Viewed from in front, his fore limbs hang directly under the shoulder in a straight line down through cannons, fetlocks and feet.

He has good quality hair and firm skin, with a fine coat in the summer.

At the walk he covers ground with a long consistent stride placing his hind feet where his front ones almost were.

At the trot he is very pleasing to the eye with his ample flexation of his knee and hock joints with all four feet clearing the ground in turn.

The body

Mack has a good shoulder nicely tied in at the wither and is starting to develop his crest.

He has a good straight back and a nicely rounded rump and buttocks and tail set high.

Mack has a good girth with well sprung ribs and is well let down in the flanks already giving rise to my opinion he will have a massive body once matured.

“Mack” should mature around 5 to 7 years of age with a height at around 17.1 hands or better weight at around 750-800kg.

Reason for selling

This horse is the result of a lifetimes breeding of my own stud. We are only parting with him because we are retiring and scaling back our own stud to 2 mares, so we can concentrate on other pursuits in life.

“Mack” would be a perfect acquisition for any stud looking for a foundation sire or to replace a stallion that a stud can no longer use for genetic reasons.

Mack has been well handled, feet trimmed, mouthed and driven in long reins.

He loves attention and has no vices that we are aware of.

We are seeking expressions of interest initially, as we want to place ”Mack” with someone that the Clydesdale breed will benefit from, and at the same time consider the best interests of the horse himself.  Enquiries are welcome for this clydesdale for sale and please note P.O.A.
